A Change is Gonna Come

This morning I had an interesting experience walking into work. I was singing, “A Change is Gonna Come” the Brandy in the bathroom version. There were three black male security guards in my path. Normally, I would walk in the path that they were on, but I got small and shy and decided to walk around them. This is something I have known about myself is that at times I am uncomfortable about being around certain types of what I perceive as hyper masculine black males. I think this stems from not being around a lot of black men in my early years. This is definitely something I need to be mindful of and even walk through, because I should be comfortable being me no matter who is around.
