Yesterday, after our second performance, we had someone come up to us and say that they truly enjoyed our show. She said she came based on our performance at the preview. That was amazing to hear, because I was not in a great space when we did our preview. I just wanted it all to be over. This lady’s comment let me know even when you aren’t in your best headspace, that can sometimes help your performance. I definitely don’t want to make that a trend, because it can lead to a lot of unhealthy habits, which can affect my personal character. She also mentioned how based on the preview and after seeing the show, we truly took her on a journey. She had no clue what she was expecting, but our show surpassed her expectations. That is possibly one of the best compliments an actor can receive. Some other comments I would love to hear from a show like this is how much it makes you think about being on the “wrong side” of history.
Now I am about to take a brain break and do a little personal reading before I run lines and prepare for today’s shows.
