Life is so interesting. At one moment you can be feeling like you have no more options for survival and then another option is suggested and you see a small light at the end of the tunnel. For months, I have been saying that I am going to get myself together financially and then another set back hits. Well not anymore. I will no longer allow set backs to steal my energy, my joy, or my vision for a brighter tomorrow. I want to be able to give back to my community with my time more than I was doing before. Recently, I got the chance to speak at a Boys and Girls Club to high school teens on my career. Even though I am not in a “typical” place in my acting journey to give advice, I know that I am in the right place. What better way to inspire the youth than to be at a early point and working my way up so they can see the hard work it takes to achieve your dreams, whether they are wild or normal. At the event we did a “Speed Networking” activity. The main theme behind the event was to imagine you are well into your career, 5 or more years from now, how is it going? For me I can say that it truly helped me unleash some new dream thoughts, even if they aren’t dreams that I will hold onto.
What I do understand about life, dreams, opportunities, and the universe is that there are endless possibilities. I am glad to know if one idea is meant for me to take action on, I will have the drive and passion to make it happen. In my adult years, post-college I have been blessed with so many great ideas. Over the years either my energy filter has blocked them from happening or the need for the idea to see the light of day passed away. Now I want to work on the ideas that have been around for years.
