It’s Working

Coming up close on the end of the first quarter of 2018, I am taking time to reflect on my growth thus far. I have experienced a lot this quarter that I could not have foreseen happening. Like the song “It’s Working” by William Murphy says “this is my season for grace and favor, to reap what I have sown.” I can definitely feel that I have sown so much since leaving my job, turning 30, moving to DC and my Dad has transitioned. I truly do believe if we want to hear God laugh, we should tell him our plans. The things I have tried to make happen in my life in the past few years, that I did not give to God were all doors closed and hard lessons learned.

Based on the conversation my sister and I had last year as far as where I was in my journey of being and appreciating 30, I am at the bottom of the steps to the porch. Instead of wanting to walk to the curb, I want to plant some seeds to start a garden. I want to plant a garden of all the talents and gifts that God has blessed me with and be able to watch them grown until he is ready for them to be plucked to pass on to someone else and make room for another one to grow. As I think about this garden, I begin to think more about nature and how much we need to appreciate and nurture it. We only truly get this one chance to experience the vastness of what God has created. Therefore, we should truly reflect and appreciate how God created such a beautiful world.
