Thankful Thursday

It is Thankful Thursday again! The first thing I am thankful for is a great support system. Without my support system I would have given up some time ago on following my dream to be a professional actor. If it had not been for the people in my life constantly giving me motivation to continue on the path. It has been an interesting summer faced with many trials and tribulations. I know I am going to make it through because I serve an awesome God who is always blessing me in only ways that he can. My support system have been there blessing me along the way with encouragement, financial blessings, assistance with the dream, and just love and support galore. Not only does it take a village to raise a child, it also takes a village to encourage and keep an artist lifted.

The second thing I am thankful for is my discipline journal. When I first started writing it in back in January of this year, which I thought I started March, I was inspired by the scripture of Philippians 4:13 that was written on the front. This scripture made me realize that whatever I wrote inside of the book would come true. What I began writing started to become true until I fell off with my consistency. Then I finished that book and started another one with much more ambitious goal that did not work out very well. Having picked back up with the book has slowly gotten me back on track. When I started listing the things I’ve done each day to be disciplined, I will be all the way back on track.

The third thing I am thankful for is my Howard family. Howard was the only school I wanted to go to when applying for college. The reason I wanted to go to Howard was because of the Alumni who had found success in the professional acting community. Once I got to Howard I fell in love with so many things about it. The biggest thing was the ability to be a leader and grow as one. When I graduated I immediately got linked with the Alumni Association. While being affiliated with the Association, I have been able to network and build some solid relationships. My Howard family has become instrumental in my present journey and very supportive of me living out my dreams.
